7/4・5・6『Experiment: Can you make a cloud in a bottle? 』(実験:きみは、雲をペットボトルの中で作れるか?)』を開催。

【From Teacher’s Eye ~授業後の先生から一言~】

Activity Time: This week, we do a science experiment to replicate clouds inside a plastic bottle. Through this activity, the children will learn action words like squeeze and release and express disappointment and excitement with “Nothing happened” and “It worked”.
Circle Time: This week, we read books, listen to a song and play a game focussing on weather. The children learn how to answer to the question “How’s the weather?” with different responses such as sunny, rainy, windy and cloudy. We also play a fun game of charades where they act out a picture card to help one student guess what it is.

【From Teacher’s Eye ~授業後の先生から一言~】

Activity Time: This week, we’re doing a magic trick with toothpicks. We learn how to make a toothpick disappear! Through this activity, the children will learn action words like vanish (One, two, three, vanish!) as the magician and express astonishment (How did you do that!) as the audience. Once they understand the trick, they learn how to answer to the question “Where did the toothpick go?”.
Circle Time: In the homework discussion, we talk about prepositions of place like above, below, behind and in front of that answer to the question word “Where”. We also read a book that helps understand prepositions of place better with more words like on, in, by and next to me.

Activity Time: This week, we’re learning how to make lemonade. Through this activity, the children will learn action words like cut, squeeze (out the lemon juice), pour, add and mix.
Circle Time: After we make the lemonade, the children play the roles of staff/customer and sell/buy it at the lemonade stand using the phrases they learned last week. We also read a book about the process of picking, packing, transporting, selling and juicing oranges.

【From Teacher’s Eye ~授業後の先生から一言~】

Activity Time: This week, we’re playing pretend by assuming the roles of salesboy/salesgirl running a lemonade stand. Through this activity, the children will learn phrases from the viewpoint of both sides, i.e. how to call/attract a customer as a staff member and how to ask for one/two/three cup(s) of lemonade as a customer.
Circle Time: The kids learn how to answer when asked about their age and grade (school). We also read a book together the things required to make a mudpie.

【From Teacher’s Eye ~授業後の先生から一言~】

In this week’s activity time, we’re singing a fun song about sailors, the sea and marine animals along with actions. Through this activity, the children will learn names of sea animals like seahorse, jellyfish, turtle, octopus, shark and blue whale, and they will also learn action phrases to stomp and walk around the table. In circle time, the kids will learn how to understand questions about their identity and reply to the asker.

【From Teacher’s Eye ~授業後の先生から一言~】This week, we’re making the flags of India and Japan. This activity teaches the kids how to say phrases for drawing lines/circles and filling colours in the shapes. It’s also a good revision for numbers and colour names.

We made a collage by sticking pictures of animals, fruits, insects, colours and musical instruments we ‘like’ on a paper. This has taught the students how to express different things they like in a fun way.

What a great activity we had this week making vibrations using sounds. We enjoyed using different ways of making sounds by instruments and different voice tones ”High & Low” volume. Importantly, understanding of every aspects in this experiment by English.

What a fun tasty activity we all had. We learned how to make Spanish omelette even though we are not from Spain. However, it taste great!. Importantly, we can learn other countries famous dish, and one day students can explain to their parents how to make Spanish omelette in English.

This week activity learning about “Carp Streamer”(koinobori) is to have the students understand and be proud of their national holiday in Japan “Children’s Day”. Also, to encourage students to get familiar with the traditional crafts for this special day, and one day explain this day to other countries in English. Happy Children’s day everyone!
